According to a recent report from Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are still very much interested in the potential signing of Brazilian sensation Reinier. However, they aren’t willing to pay the £60 million fee that is being demanded of them by Flamengo, who are well aware of the fact that they have their own star on their hands.
Barca look set to have a busy few transfer windows as they attempt to build their squad up to contend in the Champions League once again, and it seems as if they’ve got all sorts of targets. The competition for places in their starting XI is already pretty fierce, but they aren’t afraid to add fuel to the fire.
Many believe that if Reinier did wind up signing then there’s a very good chance he could be shipped back off on loan for a seas…
Goals from James Tavernier and Scott Arfield were enough for Rangers to triumph 2-0 in a typically frenetic Old Firm derby against Celtic at Ibrox.
Gers boss Steven Gerrard had questioned the quality in the Scottish Premiership in the build up to Sunday s clash, but he will have few complaints about the performance of his side against their Glasgow rivals.
Tavernier s wicked cross-shot from a second-minute free-kick set the tone for a fine showing against a Celtic side that celebrated an eighth straight title by beating Aberdeen last time out.
And Arfield finished a well-worked move just after the hour as Rangers chalked up back-to-back home wins over Celtic for the first time since the 2011-12 season.
enjoyed that one.

Simone Inzaghi is aware of the importance of Inter s upcoming trip to Viktoria Plzen as he targets 10 points to stand a chance of progressing from a difficult Champions League group.
Having been drawn alongside two European heavyweights in Barcelona and Bayern Munich, Inter know taking maximum points against the Czech champions will be key to their hopes.
Inter suffered a chastening 2-0 defeat to Bayern on matchday one, but they have only lost their opening two games in one previous Champions League campaign, doing so in 2006-07 under Roberto Mancini.
Inzaghi emphasised the significance of bouncing back from that disappointment on Tuesday as he labelled Group C the toughest in the competition.
Undoubtedly, it is an important match; we know we ha…

The Women’s Super League and Championship are preparing to break free from the Football Association after the top two tiers unanimously agreed to be governed by a new, independent body from next season.
Former Nike and Citigroup executive Nikki Doucet has been appointed to lead the organisation, NewCo, effective immediately, and will oversee plans for all 24 clubs to move into the new governance structure ahead of the 2024-25 campaign.
Each club who participates in the WSL and Championship will act as shareholders under the NewCo model, which has long been in the works and is seen as an important step in growing what an independent review concluded this summer has potential to become a billion-pound domestic women’s football industry within 10 years.
